Scams targeting seniors continue to evolve, becoming more convincing, more aggressive, and unfortunately, more common. From fake phone calls and phishing emails to impersonation scams and financial fraud, criminals are finding new ways to target vulnerable individuals every day.

That’s why APCU is proud to partner with the Aurora Police Department’s Senior Safety and Resource Unit (SSRU) to host Coffee, Donuts & Fraud Prevention, a free community event focused on education, awareness, and protection.

On July 29th, 2026, community members are invited to gather for a relaxed morning of coffee, fresh donuts, and meaningful conversation about today’s most common scams and fraud trends affecting seniors. Attendees will hear directly from local law enforcement professionals about real-world situations happening in our area and learn practical ways to recognize warning signs before becoming a victim.

The event is designed to be informative, approachable, and interactive. Guests are encouraged to bring questions, share concerns, and participate in discussions about identity theft, phone scams, online fraud, romance scams, banking safety, and other financial threats that continue to impact older adults.

At APCU, protecting our members goes beyond accounts and transactions. Financial education and fraud awareness are an important part of helping our community feel confident and secure. Partnering with local organizations like the Aurora Police Department allows us to provide valuable resources while strengthening the relationships that keep our community connected.
